Rookie School Starting This Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 9:00 am at GSQMRC track!
The Garden State Quarter Midget Racing Club prides ourselves in teaching racers of all ages the rules and techniques of driving a quarter midget race car! Through our structured and revamped rookie school, we feel confident that all new racers, no matter their age, will understand and love the sport!

Meet Our Rookie School Director: Nick

Nick is entering his second year as Rookie School Director, following the retirement of longtime director Bill Schwarz. He has been a valued member of the GSQMRC for four years, and during that time he has become a true cornerstone of our club community.

Nick’s journey with GSQMRC began when he attended an Arrive & Drive event with his son, Sal. What started as a fun family experience quickly became a passion. Sal began as a Red Rookie and advanced rapidly to Blue Rookie, finishing his first year as an Unrestricted Rookie. Today, Sal can still be seen racing at GSQMRC, and Nick remains an enthusiastic and supportive presence at the track.

Beloved by our young racers, Nick has a natural ability to connect with children and inspire confidence behind the wheel. He is truly dedicated to helping the next generation of drivers learn, grow, and succeed.

With our Rookie Program recently revamped, Nick is excited to continue leading our team of GSQMRC Handlers and warmly welcoming new families into the club.
